Nettie's Syrup - GIVEAWAY!

These are the best pancakes we’ve ever had!

My kids are not overly complimentary about food, unless they really love it! I guess they've been spoiled by their mama's cooking!

In other words, it had to taste pretty darn good to all 3, to be gushing over this new syrup that I served on their buttermilk pancakes this past week.

Not only did I double our family favorite Buttermilk Pancake recipe that morning, but our family got to try Nettie’s Vanilla Syrup on top!

Nettie’s Syrup history
I grew up in the country on a dairy farm and my mom often made her dishes from scratch. One of my favorites is this vanilla syrup.

When I got married I couldn’t imagine making any breakfast without it. Now my family can’t live without it on their pancakes. I hope your family enjoys it as much as mine.

Be creative and try it with ice cream, coffee, or drizzled over sausage. Give the bottle a shake and enjoy! Lynette

3 bottle giveaway
Our family loves this light, vanilla-flavored syrup! So I can’t recommend it enough to all of my readers. In fact, we love this syrup so much - I’m giving 3 bottles away!

You can visit Lynette’s site to find the stores in your area that carry this product, here. OR, see if you can get this product brought in to your local grocery store! Your town will go crazy over it! OR, you can order directly from her website!

Comment to win
I’d love to hear your favorite food item you make with syrup, or serve with syrup! Either one.

Leave me a comment and 3 winners will be announced on Sunday!

Buttermilk Pancakes
4 cups buttermilk
4 eggs
1 ½ cubes butter melted (12 Tablespoons)
3 cups flour
2 tsp. salt
3 tsp. baking soda
(Large batch – you can cut in ½ if you choose to!)

Wisk ingredients – lumps are ok!

Cook on a hot skillet

Serve with Nettie’s Vanilla Syrup and eggs

I’ve learned to trust my kids when they say something is the BEST! And I’d have to agree on this product!

Just found your blog...LOVE IT! As to the syrup, my granddaddy use to make pan fried potatoes and then pour syrup over them for me when I was a little girl :) I haven't done that since I was 10, but the memory makes me have tears in my eyes right now.

I love to make pecan pies which use corn syrup.

Also, I have a question, Sandy. How much butter is in your pancake recipe? I wasn't certain about the "cubes" part.

Thanks!

Oh my you're killin me with these photos at 7am when I haven't had my cardboard and banana for breakfast yet! Dear's grandmother was named Nettie. What a fun lady she was. I'll have to be on the lookout for this syrup. Our favorites with syrup are blintzes and Dear's Swedish Pancakes. My kids love their dad's pancakes served up fresh off the skillet one at a time to them :0)

My grandparents used to own a maple farm with a sugar shack on it waaaaaaaay back in the day up here in Canada and so as a result I've only ever grown up on Maple Syrup and have been obsessed since day 1.

Though outside of the province of Québec (where they lived), it's tough to find at a reasonable price. I'm hoping if I win this syrup I might find a wonderful (and more affordable) substitute.

My favorite recipe is one called "Grand-pères" directly translates to "Grandfathers". It's a dessert by where you boil a sort of salty dough in syrup until it thickens and the dough is fully cooked and becomes thick. It sounds kind of gross I know, but it's delicious.

We love maple syrup on oatmeal in the morning. Night before soak equal parts old fashioned oats and milk in the fridge. Next morning heat one part water (if you have 1 cup of oatmeal, make this 1 cup of water) with a pinch or two of salt. Add the oatmeal/milk mixture and bring to a simmer for about 2-3 minutes until thickened. Serve with a pat of butter and maple syrup. Even the pickiest of eaters love this!

thanks for the chance to win!

Besides the pancakes, I make belgian waffles and biscuits to top with syrup.

YUMM-O! This post is making me so hungry. My favorite thing to do with syrup, besides putting it on pancakes, is to make peanut butter and syrup...mmmmmm. I love to just mix up a tablespoon full of peanut butter and some syrup and eat it with a piece of bread or a biscuit.

Going to see if I can find a store near me ☺

We use syrup on pancakes and french toast. Also great to dip sausage biscuits in! Would love to try this syrup. I looked at the website and it doesn't look like it is carried in any stores near me.

Besides buttermilk pancakes,we put maple syrup on oatmeal and also on biscuits. SO very expensive, tho.

A tradition in our home is for my husband to make pancakes on the weekends. He loves to experiment with flavors and the boys favorites are almond and lemon. I have lever been a lover of pancakes...they used to make me gag. But my husband makes the best...light, fluffy and thin. I can't wait to try out your buttermilk recipe! It would go great with some Netties!

Pancakes and syrup are a luxury my family rarely participates in. But when we do, we enjoy a lighter syrup - some of the dark syrups are too heavy... Now, this vanilla syrup you speak of sounds good! I'll bet your pancakes taste like cookies! YUMMY!

I could do a cookie breakfast! LOL!!

We're still starting traditions in our little home, and pancakes on Saturday morning have become one of them! I confess that I've been "doctoring" my fav ready mix with sugar and cinnamon, but I'm going to definitely try to make the ones you posted from scratch tomorrow morning! YUMMMM In addition to "smell-o-vision" on TV, I'd love it on my computer too!

When I was very small (preschool age) my mother made a homemade "brown syrup" and I think that it had a vanilla base. This syrup sounds delicious. Currently my husband has started a tradition of making chocolate chip pancakes with our daughters on Saturday mornings. And we use my Grandmother's buttermilk recipe--very similar to yours.
