Come Back, Haggis McStitch!

Friends and family who've been to our house know all about Haggis McStitch.

He barks exuberantly as he runs the "Haggis Highway," outside protecting our family, annoying everyone around him.

During the remodel, with lots of men coming and going, we've had to lock Haggis up in the bathroom, Paul's office, in the backyard - because he's always making a bee-line for the front door.

But he's still managed to get out, though he doesn't run as far as he used to (and his name is attached to his collar).

He always comes back, because he knows where the love is.

We love our Cairn Terrier, barks and all. And he's so curious about what's going on here ... (and he loves to ride in the car with us!)

I'd love to hear about your favorite animal in your household?

Aren't our furry friends great?!? We have a Heinz 57 - a little bit of everything. She is now recovering from a torn ACL, but her personality is a trip.

Hi Sandy,
I love reading your blog and the principles about hospitality that you blog about. You are truly inspirational! I've awarded you a Friendship award for encouraging to many people to open their homes and hearts up to others.

I always look forward to reading your blog and can't wait to see the new kitchen.

We have a Westie named Hobbes (as in Calvin and Hobbes). So he is a cousin of Haggis. Hobbes is so sweet even if he is rather barky too!

Haggis McStitch is so cute! My family had a cairn terrier when I was growing up named Buster-- they are such energetic little dogs. Now my husband and I have a retriever/malamute mix that has to be the center of everything!

We actually have four lovely laying hens in the back yard. The kids love experiencing caring for them and gathering the eggs daily. Nothing like a couple of little urban chicken farmers...

We have a little mini dapple dachsund. She is our absolute favorite. SHE is always barking at everybody and everything but she is the most loyal dog ever!

Our favorite little guy is Jake...an adorable min poodle we rescued 3 1/2 years ago. This time last year Jake ruptured a disc and is now paralyzed in his hind legs. The vet suggested we put him to sleep but we just couldn't do it. Our fur babies are family and we love Jake to death, walking or not!

Yep, Haggis comes back every time...he knows where the love is!

It almost seems like a family is not complete without a pet. We have had numerous...hamsters, fish, frogs, cat(unfortuntly lost them all within a year and a half), but we still have our two faithful dogs.

Well, since I live on the Funny Farm, I can't decide between the goats, chickens, dog and yes, we now have a new rabbit.

I love your blog! I have just been catching up!

At our house we have a Cairn terrier named Annie. She's a good dog (when she wants to be). When she was younger she was a runner, but thankfully she's given up (for the most part) her wandering ways now that she's an old lady of 9 1/2.

I love your doggie. He would love Winston. He is the same way about his family (he is a West Highland White Terrier)...he loves to ride in the car and be a part of our family in every way. He is getting pretty old though so we don't let him ride in the car as much because he has too many accidents. Poor pup! :-(

What a cutie! We have a heeler who is still pretty new to our family-but he fits in quite nicely and is already deeply loved by us all. He's even joined us on road trips-he loves to be where his people are!

You took some really beautiful pictures of your furry friend! What a lucky guy!
I volunteer at a local animal shelter and I just know that you would love all these little darlings over here as well! Oh, I have three cats!

Haggis is a beautiful dog..aren't you lucky to have him? And isn't he lucky to have you?
We had a Yorkie named Tuffy and a Persian cat named Muffy. Loved them both so much but they are gone now...I haven't the heart to replace them. I mean, how could I?

Love that last photo with the wind in his face! We have a giant lop-earred rabbit that runs free in the house. He's the sweetest thing ever...and so full of personality! He's laying at my feet right now.

Oh my gosh, that last picture is just so cute! Love, love, LOVE it!!!

Our dog growing up was Lucy, and she was probably the smartest dog in the world =0) My fave memory is of her standing up on her hind legs so she could waltz with my father. Sigh. Good times.

Thanks for bringing back a flood of such lovely memories.
