2 Copies of No More Jellyfish ... GIVEAWAY!

Father's Day is sneaking up on us!

If you have a family, or you have grandkids or even neighbor kids whose parents could benefit from a fabulous book on raising assertive kids - I'm giving a copy away of No More Jellyfish, Chickens or Wimps, by Paul Coughlin.

This book could help you change a child's life, as he/she learns to confront bullying.

Its a perfect Father's Day gift idea, so you can either order a copy, here, or you can leave me a comment to win your own copy!

Yes, any comment will work (like - please enter me!)

But I'd also love to hear if your kids have experienced being bullied?

Feel free to elaborate, if you wish.

2 winners will be announced tomorrow, along with an excellent post from my guest, Simple Mom! You won't want to miss it!

Good luck!

My little guy, age 8, has experienced bullying this past year (2nd grade). It broke my heart. How awesome that you're giving away a book on this subject. Please include me.

My son experienced bullying a few years back. Our school has a twice yearly Anti-Bullying Program, and I would love to donate the book to the school library.

I am not sure about bullying...but mean kids...Yes!

I have a dear friend whose son has been bullied....I would pass it to her after I read it!

What a cute name for a book!

My children haven't experienced bullying to the extent that I did when I was younger; however, I'm trying to teach my children to stand up to those who bully others. Trying to be your own person and not follow the crowd is *tough* and that's what we're trying to instill in our children. :)

I'm not sure if we've encountered actual "bullies," but we've recently had to deal with kids who tend to be more "aggressive in asserting their wills" than my kids. I always thought my kids were very self-assured with strong personalities, so it's been surprising and a little disheartening to see them cave to the demands of their friends. My husband and I have struggled with what we should do about it.

Not bullying, particularly, but mean kids, yes. Sounds like a great book!

Oh, please enter me! Yes, my daughter has experienced bullying- sadly. That's a big part of why we home school our children. It's that whole "mean girl" syndrome.:( This book sounds wonderful!

I am having a giveaway, too, so please stop by!:) Lori

Oh, I'm in! My son is ADHD, but thank God he can control it with proper medication. As for bullying, I can't say he's experienced that, but he has had his share of 2nd grade heartaches. Sometimes, he gets his feelings stepped on my friends, but overall, he seems to be okay.

What a great sounding book! My daughter has dealt with "mean girls" since first grade. It's gotten better, but it can be so hard (for moms too).

No out right bullying around here... but I just got off the phone hearing about a bullying incident involving my nephew. Please count me in.

p.s. we had the grand celebration of my grandad's 90th, and it was a super success...tips here and there from you made the road smoother. Thanks.

Would love to win! Thanks for your blog. I've learned a lot about delegating from you!

Bullying or mean teasing came up at our dinner table recently. We tried to tell the kids how to steer the conversation away from the targeted kid or stand up for them. Not to follow the crowd. Please enter me.

I could have used this book when I was a kid! My son is quite assertive and confident but my daughter has a lot of issues with fear and anxiety. Sounds like a great book!

this sounds like a great book-please enter me! and thankfully no, we haven't really experienced that yet-does it count if they fight with each other? ;)

Please enter me in the drawing. My kids are little (3 and 4), but I can already see signs of bullying in some kids. It is so sad... and so disturbing! I have a feeling that my boys would handle it better than me (Mom), if I knew they were being bullied! But I sure don't want them to ever have to endure it unprepared. Thanks for offering this as a give-away.

I would love to win the book. My son was big for his age when he was in 3rd grade, but a tiny second grader told him he couldn't play football at recess and Tyler didn't for several months until I finally got it out of him as to what was going on. He could of squished that kid but he don't encourage violence and Tyler is very kind hearted. So he just took it. It broke my heart that he would let someone else just push him around.

Sounds like a great "tool" to have on hand to use as you did - to help others. My children are all grown up now, but I do have a granddaughter and I've wondered how to counteract this kind of situation which seems to be way too prevalent these days.

We have had this happen to both of my daughters. It is absolutely heartbreaking. Please enter me and thank you so much!

No experience with bullying here, but we would love to read his book! Thanks. :)

My 9year old son experienced a bit of bullying this last year and he's the tallest kid in the class so don't let size fool ya! Would love to read this book! Thanks

My daughter (7 at the time) has stood up for someone else being bullied! I was so proud of her.

She has experienced "minor" bullying (if there is such a thing) by girls threatening to not be her friend anymore.

So sad what kids will do to each other. And what parents will excuse as "kids being kids".

I did a lot of work with bullying when I worked in the schools and would love to read this book!

My daughter, who is in 6th grade, has come across some mean girls, and disrespectful boys and girls. I am pleased that she is strong enough to stand up for others who are being picked on. She does feel the effects though, and feels anxious about school, as it is difficult for her to understand why people behave this way. We have tried to teach our girls that being kind, and doing the right thing (with our guide being God's Word), are the best answer.

Would love to read the book! Please enter me too!

Please enter me! My son is 9, going into the 4th grade. He's been picked on by some mean kids at school but not quite sure if it's considered bullying. They have given him a hard time about having to go to speach and another class for his reading. This summer he's in summer school for the same....apparently today a bit more teasing from a neighbor boy...so how appropriate I came to your blog!

My kids are still too young, but I would love to prepare them and myself for the world that's coming. Kids can be so cruel, so anything I can do to help build them up is definitely a God sent.

no bullying yet, but i am terrified - its a brave new world for me...

We've had discussions at length about how we'd handle this if it happened to our son (almost 5). I'd love to read this book. Thanks -- Megret

I would love a copy of this book. I have an 11 year old daughter with a disability; while she is beautiful and kind, some fail to see this, as she is not "perfect" physically. It is my desire to boost her self-esteem, and make her see that she is who she is meant to be, and those people that hurt her feelings are not people she wants to be like. I also have two younger sons, and I also want them to stand up for themselves, and their sister. Thank you for including me.

Thankfully my kiddos haven't experienced that, but close friends' children have and it's terrible.

Thanks for bringing the book to my attention. My daughter has been bullied over the past year. The school did not rally behind her. It has changed her-- grades dropped, self confidence zero and she looks unhappy. This summer is about trying to get her back! A new school will await her in the fall. Thanks for your attention to this issue. It is huge one when it affects your own kid!

Not sure I'm in time...but leaving a message just in case. I really enjoy your ideas. I've always loved to entertain but by the time people arrive, I'm exhausted. I'm going to try and be more calm...and to remember IT DOESN'T HAVE TO BE PERFECT!!!

So far my kids haven't been bullied, but I feel like my son might end up being because he's very creative and free spirited. I'd love to give this book to my husband for father's day!

I have a nice, quiet and polite 10 year old who is off to middle school next year...the perfect time for this book!! I'm scared for him and I would rather have anything bad happen to me not him but I know that can't happen so I would love for him to have the right tools and confidence to handle any situation. Thanks for this!!
