Drink Charm Labels GIVEAWAY!

A few weeks ago, these creative labels showed up in my mailbox just in time for this dinner party - and with a few extras to give away to you!

Drink Charm Labels, made by Clingythingy Labels!

Where did I set my glass down?

Which drink is mine?

I have red lipstick on – that glass is mine! Or is it?

Conversation piece
It’s fun to set these labels out as guests arrive, to let people pick the icon they want – that’s best fitting to their personality - and then to talk about why they picked that particular one.

It’s a nice little conversation piece.

The four-leaf clover was perfect for my Irish husband!

And the kitchen tools, don’t you think they are me?

You can also give each person a number for the evening! What a creative thought!

Perfect hostess gift
I don’t know about you, but I love taking a hostess gift when we are invited out. I don’t look for anything big – but something small and affordable. These labels make awesome hostess gifts! One package is a perfect small "thank you!"

Cool clingythingy labels
• Reusable Drink Labels
• Reduce excess waste and washing
• Apply to any clean, dry, smooth surface
• Great for everyday at home or at the office

Custom labels
What I love is that you can customize your party! Orders are taken on an individual basis! How cool is that?

How to win
Please leave me a comment and answer this question:

Do you feel nervous right before your guests arrive? And if so, what do you do to calm your nerves?

3 WINNERS!
Yes, 3 winners will be chosen and announced right here on Monday morning!

These Drink Charm Labels are created by my friend, Mollie, who is a sponsoring advertiser on 4RE! Thank you Mollie! And you can order directly off of her website right now!

oh, how fun!! depending on the party, yes I do get nervous. again, depending on the party, I might sip a glass of wine -- or fiddle with the music....

Yes, I feel nervous! And I usually end up saving too much for the last minute. What ends up happening is that I look like a frazzled mess. So it helps me to go freshen up and make sure I look calm and happy. Just stepping away from the preparations for a minute helps a lot!

Nervous? Heck no! I love to throw a party. I've done simple meals to large bashes. I've done impromptu raid the fridge for noshes to uber planning a huge soiree. I am addicted to throwing parties; large and small. Good thing because we have a birthday every month of the year in my house starting with March, skip July, and end in September. By that time I am planning autumn, Thanksgiving and Christmas/ New Years parties. I keep supplies on hand, fill in the blanks and never sweat the small stuff. I have not had a complaint yet...
Cute idea with the stickers. And, you don't have to be drinking out of a stem to use them.

These are the perfect addition to any party and get-together!

I always get nervous before hand - worried if I've forgotten something, didn't clean something, etc. I always try to just sit down for a few minutes... hopefully beside the hubby and relax for a moment. If I am more relaxed and comfortable when the guests arrive; they will be more relaxed!

Oh man those are awesome! I love them! I totally get nervous before a party! Will there be enough food, omg will someone spill something on my wood floors..hehehe! But I do love a good party!

Sandy - these are genius! Kudos to the brain behind this child.

I have a large - and I mean LARGE - family and this is so much better than sharpies on a plastic cup. I mean - it's hard to feel festive with a plastic cup your name scrawled on. ;)

Genius!

Wow! What a great product! I am always a little nervous before the guests arrive. I try to take a deep breath, read a minute or two, and light the candles.

I don't get nervous if it's just a few friends coming over but for bigger gatherings yes!! I usually don't do anything to calm down because I save to much for the last minute. I calm down after they get there. Love the labels!!!

Kathryn said...

Getting nervous totally depends on how ready I am for the evening. Unfortunately,I'm usually behind schedule. :( I wish I could say I did something relaxing when I'm nervous...but usually I just continue to stress, until all guests are here...and things generally turn out alright. :)

Kathy said...

I guess I get a little case of the nerves - usually when I'm prepping and trying to get the whole house clean before a gathering - and keep it clean with little ones underfoot!

But once people arrive, I get excited and enjoy having company. I love to be around people! =)

Cute little labels!

Yes, I get nervous before the guests' arrival. So what do I do? Bite my fingernails, probably. LOL (I'm doing better now.)

I love the labels! What a fun giveaway. Yes - I'm almost always nervous right before guests arrive. I've found that the best thing I can do before everyone shows up is to walk through my house, room by room and pray over each one. I pray for a lot of different things but I always start out by praying that first, God is invited and I hope He enjoys being with us and then second, that He is glorified in the event - whatever that may look like, it's entirely up to Him. I've found, since I started inviting Him to each party, they have gone smoothly and even cleaning up afterwards is easier. He is the perfect first guest!

I temper the nerves by preparing days ahead!
A 1/2 hour before I change clothes, freshen up, etc.
Great ideas ~ the labels!
No telling how many germs have been spread with confusing the drinks!

Aubrey said...

What a nifty idea!
I don't get particularly nervous...I don't have much time to process nerves when chasing the littles and finding ways for each of them to help prepare for our company!

philben5 said...

Why didn't I think of charm labels? What a wonderful idea! As far as being nervous it really depends who is coming for supper. We hold sunday dinners for friends and family after church and it is very laid back. If it's someone we are just getting to know... I get too nervous. There's always a prayer sent up but it deffinately something I need to work on! Love having company though!

What a great idea. Who doesn't feel nervous before the guest arrive? There really is no way for me to calm down, I just have to let them come and then I get in the groove of things.

Those are so cute!! I sometimes do get nervous before guests arrive (depending on the guests) and try to turn the nervousness into excitement. After all, I have invited these guests into my home for a reason, right?

Thanks for the super giveaway!

Tarrah said...

It all depends on who is coming for me. Like a couple weeks ago when a chef friend came over I was REALLY nervous :). If I'm nervous I just try to tell my husband, he has a way of trying to calm me down.

BTW Sandy, I made your Chicken kalamata for some guests a couple weeks ago and it was fantastic. I made it with Muenster cheese that time but tomorrow were having different guests over and I'm making it with the dubliner cheese. I'm very excited to have it again. I also made your Carrot Orange soup for my MOPS group this week and it was a big hit. Thank you for all your wonderful ideas and recipes.

I would love to win these too!

What a great idea! Love the drink labels.
I rarely get nervous, unless it is really huge event. I try to have everything done 30 minutes before so I have a chance for a little calm before the storm.

Yes, I feel nervous but so excited to open our house and have a good time with friends. I try to calm down with a few shots and... no just kidding! I try to stay calm by looking at my list of when to put things in and pull out of the oven and that reassues me that I am on top of what I need to do for the food to be hot when served. Love your site. You have helped me to entertain 2X this year and have such a relaxed time instead of fretting that everything must be perfect.

Nervous before a party...not usually. I love hosting and spread out preparations over the days before the party so I'm not scrambling at the last minute. I'm usually spending the time right before guests arrive shooing my family away from the food :-)

Anonymous said...

Cool idea! The icons themselves are great conversation inspiration.
I'm usually a little nervous until the first person walks in the door...then my focus gets back where it should be - on the guests. The antidote for the self-concern that brings on my apprehension is focusing on the Lord and asking His heart on the event, His blessing on all.

Donnetta said...

Normally I do not feel nervous before guests arrive. I guess that's just my laid back extrovert personality shining through.

I would also guess it might depend on who was coming... ?

These labels are a perfect idea! Either to use as the hostess or to give as a little gift to another hostess. How clever!

Yes, I am a need-to-have-it-all done-and-waiting kind of entertainer, so I try to get everything done and have a few minutes to veg or refresh make-up, etc.

I am always nervous when I am entertaining. I relax by making sure I have done all I can do ahead of time, quiet soft music, and perhaps a small glass of wine. Those are such cute charms. What a great idea!

Those labels are a great idea... better than those dangly drink things that only fit on wine glasses and clunk around.

I'm never nervous before my guests arrive. I'm just excited. I can't wait for the party to begin.

I get a little nervous. More excited though. I bake and try to clean up and make everything look cute to calm me down.

Hi there! Just stoping by to say, "Hello!" and to let you know I just discovered your blog and look forward to returning! I'd love to be entered in your drawing too! I have found the best remedy for nerves before guests arrive is preparation! The more prepared I am, and the more advance work I have done, it all makes the leading up time go so much smoother! :-)

Kirstin said...

I love this idea. Especially for everyday drinking glasses that don't have stems like teh fancy glasses do.

I don't usually get nervous before company.

These labels are great!

I am not nervous or stressed as long as I have prepared really well beforehand. However, there have been times when my prep level was very low and yes, I was nervous before they came.

Rhoda @ Southern Hospitality said...

So cute! Of course, I'd like some of those. I don't tend to get too nervous before company. We are having friends over tonight...see I'm entertaining more!

Cassandra Louise said...

Sometimes I find myself feeling nervous. You find yourself wanting everything in it's place. Or GASP! What if they don't like what is on the menu for the evening. What calms me. My husband saying everything looks perfect. While also keeping the mentality that it is not always about how things look. But the interaction and relationships that you are building. Overall, I love to host! I love having people come. Making them feel cozy, welcome, and sharing some giggles!

the BLAH BLAH BLAHger said...

I usually feel a teeny bit nervous because I'm still running around cleaning, prepping, etc. As soon as the first guest arrives, I pour them a glass of wine and one for myself, too, that and usually settles me right down!

Redelsperger Family said...

I go outside, and then enter my front door as if I am a guest. I look at my house as if I am a guest...look to see what catches my eye first, smell to see if the house smells nice, etc... This usually calms me, knowing my guests will have a good first impression.

Rhonda said...

Those labels are great!!

Yes! I do feel nervous before my guests arrive. I don't have anything special that I do actually. My husband usually steps in and takes over and tells me to just go and relax. :)

Liz said...

I try to have everything done so I can enjoy myself and not be nervous.

Annie said...

Those labels are really cool. I have little "charms" you put on a wine glasses to know which belongs to a person but these are good since you can put them on things that don't have a stem or handle.
To answer the question, I am not nervous before my guests show up.

Jen - Balancing Beauty and Bedlam said...

oh my goodness....I always just pick up what ever drink is closest. No one told me that it mattered. :)

How cute! Guests always forget where they sat their glass...what a help these labels will be!

If I don't know some of the guests well, I get nervouse just before. I usually busy myself with last minute tidying up or something.

Thank you!

Rebecca said...

If I didn't feel nervous, I'd figure I'd had too much to drink beforehand. I'm a reluctant party giver, but have dreams of throwing fabulous get togethers. This is a great idea and they wouldn't make as much noise as glass charms.

Mary @ Giving Up On Perfect said...

Unfortunately, I'm usually running around like a lunatic before my guests arrive. So if I'm nervous about anything, it's that they'll arrive while I'm still sweaty. :)

Anonymous said...

i do so much planning beforehand, i don't worry about the outcome.i usualy take my bath an hour before and just relax while i get ready! if it doesn;t turn out like i planned, i am th only one who knows!

Lisa said...

Yes! I am always a nervous wreck! I usually try and do last minute table preps and TRY and act like I have everything under control...and drink lots of diet coke! lol. My last get together with my college friends one of the guests husband said I was so organized and the party ran like a well oiled machine! I took that like a compliment! Those drink charms would be much nicer than everyone writing there names on disposable cups with a sharpie at my BBQ! lol! Such a cool idea~

I think the secret for not being nervous is planning and then letting go. Stuff burns. Kids create messes. But my guests are there to spend time with me and not judge me based on the 'show' I put on. Remembering that kills the nerves!

Of course I do!!! But I feed off the energy to let my creative juices flow. I honestly don't get my nerves under control until people start to arrive and I can tell they are having a good time! I love these new charms!!! I have always admired the hanging charms, but I don't use stem wear!! These would solve all my problems (at least about the glasses)..

Cathy said...

I use the bathroom about a bazillion times, I watch out the window and bite the side of my mouth. One night I was having a Tupperware party and I tripped on a dog toy and my drink flew up in the air, hit the ceiling and splashed on my head. I didn't have time to even get up before the door bell rang. I answered with drink dripping off my head. Then I excused myself.

Mary @ Neat and Tidy said...

Yes, I do get nervous just before the guests arrive because I want everything to be perfect. But you know, it all works out in the end.

Your blog is terrific. Thanks for the inspiration!

Rindy R said...

I would say I am more excited than nervous! On the occasions that I'm hosting strangers I am doing those last minutes checks - like making sure the toilet seat is down and there is a fresh towel hanging up - but for the most part my friends know my kitchen counter will have school papers on it, my toilet seat will be up and I will be holding a dust bunny convention under the sofa!

Susie said...

I only get nervous if I don't know the friends. For example if I am starting a new bible study and have never met the girls, YES!!! It helps me to pray while waiting and focus on asking God to bless the time and the new relationships.

Oh my, nervous jitters can hit me big-time before my party. Especially it I get everything done way before my guests arrive. I always save something fun to do the last 30 min. before my guests arrive. Saying a mini prayer for each guest, lighting candles, dancing to a fun song........
Usually I have a sweet friend who is with me helping.

I have to say, that I have learned so much from your blog that I look forward to entertaining ( I just think back to the candle wax that spilled on your baseboard and carpet) The one area I do need to work on is I think about it all day and until I can put it into action ...this is when I am uptight.

Catherine in SC said...

How creative!!! I could really use those. Yes, I get very nervous before guests arrive. I'm usually rushing around right before the doorbell rings. I don't start to relax until I feel that my guest are enjoying themselves!

I don't usually get nervous before guests arrive...unless I'm making a new dish that I haven't made before and am worried about it turning out well. (I know you advise against this, but sometimes I just can't help myself! Ha! ;))

I might be running around like a crazy woman or running late trying to get dinner on the table, but I'm rarely nervous. My biggest issue is getting the timing right so it isn't ready too early or too late!

abnsigoslady said...

What a FABULOUS find. Love the labels.

I do tend to get a bit jittery before a gathering. I love at those moments to grab a drink, diet pepsi of course, turn on the contemporary Christian radio, and sit for a sec. Something about the stillness and the inspiration in the music really calms the soul. Don't want to be a big OL' MARTHA the entire evening!

Thanks for the great blog. Laura

Yes, I feel very nervous before my guest arrive. I get a tight tummy. I sweat profusely and then feel like a mess if anyone arrives early before I can wipe the sweat from myself. I try to calm down by walking from room to room and viewing it as a guest would but that doesn't really calm me. If I finish everything early then I will try to sit down to watch tv and let my mind go elsewhere for a few minutes. But usually I find myself looking out the window a lot. This is something that I have done since childhood when we expected visitors.
I would love this little labels. They would be perfect for Bunco nights!

I love those labels. I always feel nervous, so I do a few things. One, I tell myself that the guests are coming 30 minutes before they are actually scheduled. I have learned to not save my prep time (shower, dress, make-up) until the end. I play my favorite CD before they arrive because it's the only time I actually hear the music, and I pour a glass of my favorite wine right before the guests arrive.

Yeah, I feel nervous...even if it's just my parents coming over. I guess to calm my nerves I stay busy. Not like frantic cleaning or cooking. But finishing the table setting or getting the appetizer ready to go out. Something to keep my mind busy. If I sit and wait, I'll just think I've forgotten something. I guess I should pray...that's what my husband would offer for advice. ;)
