"Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around." ~Leo Buscaglia~
Love this quote. So true how food can bless this same way!
Like last week when our neighbors knocked on the front door and showed up with this beautiful bowl of shrimp, avocado, mango salad.
What was the occasion? Wanting to bless us with their generous friendship - and maybe feeling sorry for our kitchen remodel mess, since they've been through it themselves!
How did they know that this yumminess would go perfectly with our enchilada dinner?
Sometimes neighbors just know.
Oh, and I try not to return a bowl empty (my homemade strawberry jam!)

What nice neighbors, the salad looks delicious. I like your idea of never returning an empty bowl.

You reap what you sow...
How very sweet of your neighbor.
You've been blessed with lovely neighbors! And I have that rule, too, about never returning a bowl empty. :)

What a wonderful surprise and yummy at the same time! This post reminds that I have a bowl to return, thanks for the heads-up!!
I love the part about not returning a bowl empty! Not necessarily with food, but a small bouquet of flowers, or some tomatoes from your garden, or...?
Yummy! What nice neighbors! Hope your remodel is going smooth.
Oh, my mom taught me to never return a dish empty-always stick some kind of treat back inside!
thoughtful neighbors are the best...hope the remodel is going well...Laurie

Happy Monday!
Oh my word!!! I just typed a comment and it was deleted!!
This looks absolutely amazing!!!
That looks amazing!! What thoughtful neighbors. The last few times we've had tournaments out of town we've invited a young couple and their two small boys to stay at our house. Simply so they could escape the heat and enjoy the AC. We left them some melons and an order to please raid the garden..
Hey, it looks like I could potentially be in your neck of the woods for a soccer game sometime this season. The coach mentioned a game against a team called the Rogue Valley SC Strikers...maybe near you maybe not...we'll see!
This was the email I thought was deleted
What you need to do is get that recipes! LOL
How wonderful!
Hugs.

Thoughtfulness from both of you! I love that idea to return the dish with a special treat. You are the best hostess!!
Lovely neighbor. Wonderful ideas. Inspirational post.
We just experienced neighborly kindness tonight! Now, what to fill their dish with?
Hi Sandy~ So glad God blessed you in the midst of the chaos - because you bless so many.
