10 Outdoor Entertaining Yard Sale Finds!

Meredith (Like Merchant Ships) and I recently put our heads together to share our top favorite entertaining finds.  Ones we've found at yard sales over the years.

And since we're in the prime season for outdoor entertaining, my list includes bargains I've found for the outdoors!

1.  Beachy redwood couch and table, perfect for appetizers - $15

2.  Set of 24 glass dishes for large group parties - $15

3.  Industrial patio heater - $125 (regular price $350)

4.  Sturdy umbrella stand (we sprayed black) - $2

5.  10-cent salad bowl (my favorite large summer bowl)

6.  Planter turned to napkin holder - $1

7.  $1 white serving platter (amongst many!)

8.  Antique cooler (and very cool for drinks!) - $5

9.  Wicker drawer set to hold candles, napkins, place mats, etc. - $15

9.  Outdoor bathroom art - $5

10. Beautiful goblets - 8 for $5 (very to photo)

My list outdoor entertaining list consisted of about 30 items, but I paired it down to 10.  Now head on over and check out Meredith's list!

Entertaining is attainable - on a dollar!

Meredith and I both are the first to tell you this!  And we also want to encourage you to step out this summer, to find some great entertaining items that work well for you!

I'd love to hear what's been your favorite entertaining find?

This is so much fun! I don't have any garage sale finds for outdoor entertaining. However, I'm looking for an icecream freezer!

You'll love this. My greatest outdoor find was a 5 piece outdoor sitting area for $20.00. Yup! I went just down the road to ask my husband and came back and it was gone! So it ended up being someone elses great find. *sigh*

Loved your finds. I haven't gone in awhile but want to get back into it!!

LOVE your outdoor heater, shabby cooler and wicker storage Sandy! I left my list at Meredith's blog, but need to add:

mosquito torches. Necessary here, often found at yard sales, and I love fire at nighttime for a party.

I left a list at LMS, but I will add:

Iron patio set -- sofa, glider chair, ottoman, side table, coffee table-- with cushions, found on Craigslist for $150. I couldn't get the money in the guy's hand fast enough!

Free faux wicker set -- sofa, two chairs, table -- from a family who thought that no one would ever pay for their used stuff!

So now I have plenty of seating on my big deck! Have to work on getting all the cushions to work together, though :) poor me LOL.

Assorted tables and benches from yard sales for actual dining. It's all thrifted or found! Yay!

By the way, love your table settings, and you had wonderful finds, that's for sure! Especially that drink cooler, oof!

Your favorite summer bowl that you got for TEN CENTS was sold at Dillard's for much more. I have that exact bowl and 8 salad bowls and cherish it, since it belonged to my Mom. (She passed away in 1977, so now you know it is older than 32 years.)

Enjoy your summertime entertaining. We had a BIG neighborhood get-together over this past weekend. We live in a new neighborhood, so this was a Meet & Greet event. We ALL had fun!

Sandy, I love all your finds! I've found some great things this year too, melamine plates & pretty aqua & green acrylic glasses, as well as tablecloths & placemats. Not to mention outdoor candleabras and holders.

I just love everything you've found. Wish I lived closer so you could invite me over. :)

Oh and my best find last year was a teak table & 4 chairs for $20. Perfect for our new patio. Thanks for linking to the party.

One of the reasons I really look forward to our move is to set up an outside entertaining area. I never felt so comfortable than the evening we stopped by your house. I could have set up a cot and moved in. I love that so many of your finds are beautiful yet so inexpensive not to mention thrifted.

I have wonderful white china and serving pieces for outside that I collected at yard sales. I hate paper plates and they are a wonderful alternative. I am currently looking for a chest I can leave outside to hold items.

Great post and great ideas, as always.

I love this! Those are great bargains-I haven't found many outdoor bargains lately but I love the reminder to use unique things like the planter in a nontranditional way.

I love all your finds especially the seat and the patio heater! I looked at them last year at HD and decided I didn't want to spend that much. If I could find these types of things at garage sales around here I might actually get up early on Saturdays!

Hey, I have that same wicker drawer dresser looking thing. I was thinking about selling it in my upcoming sale.....maybe I'll keep it for my outdoor area.

I love your pretty set of glass dishes! You really have some great finds here!

I have accumulated a couple dozen of those bamboo trays that are so perfect for entertaining if you don't have enough table space. They are big enough to hold a plate, salad bowls, beverage glass and flatware.
But what I love is to make them available to my friends to borrow for their dinner part or gatherings or church events.

Now this is feeding my bargain finding addiction for sure. Love your great finds! Right now I'm searching for bargains that will end up being a bohemian patio themed bridal shower for my daughter's friend. Think peacock colors, silky fabrics, pillows, etc. etc. Keep your eye out I'll be driving the I-5 on my way to Seattle from LA and can swing on by to pick up what you find...:0)
