My man is definately casual! When we went on a cruise once he was very uncomfortable at the formal dinners!! What a great book and congrats to your husband on writing it!

My husband is a very casual guy BUT I know that when I go to all the effort to put on a REALLY nice dinner he gets excited because I think it just makes him feel good to see everything so nice. But all in all he's a grillin, chillin, BBQ kind of man! I love him!
Hugs.

Oh the book sounds wonderful by the way.

How neat to be published! My man is definately casual and would love to read this book.

I'd love to win that book! We've really enjoyed the other two books by him that we have and I know hubby would love this one, too. We've both gone through a bit of a personal revival over the last several months, so I think this would be the perfect gift for him this year.

As for entertainment style... DEFINITELY casual!! Throw some meat on the grill, some buns and paper plates on the picnic table, and get the guests to bring everything else ~ that would be his kind of shindig!!

So excited for your husbands new book Sandy!
Congrats to you both... I know it takes full cooperation from the whole family for a project of this magnitude to come to fruition.
I'd love to be in on the give-away!

My husband would enjoy a formal gathering, but would definitely prefer a casual gathering. He'd rather be in shorts beside the pool :)

Both. My husband loves to make a campfire and cook over it, having a relaxed atmosphere, but he also enjoys me setting a pretty table and breaking out the china. I'm blessed that he enjoys entertaining, and actually if it's been too long, he reminds me that we need to have people over.

While he does like informal meals, I'm going to say formal. The first time I did a tablescape for a post, he liked it so much that when the dishes were done, he wanted to reset the table again.

My husband is very casual although he doesn't mind dressing up when I ask him to. He is away on a mission trip for most of the summer and I would love to send him this book.

Hi, S!

My hubs prefers a casual dinner. He'd love it if I served steak and tatoes every night. For dessert he's happy as a clam with plain angel food cake. Or strawberries.

Even though we're totally different in the food department, he's a keeper!

If I told him he had to put on a suit for dinner he'd probably laugh & wonder if I'd hit my head.

He prefers casual dinners with family and friends but he is also very comfortable at formal dinners also. But he really enjoys casual meals where we can enjoy good food and good conversation and everyone is very relaxed.

When entertaining in our home, I believe my husband prefers to be casual. However, when we go out for dinner, he likes the finer things and for us to dress up. It's nice that he can do both without much effort!

High Heels and Huntin' Boots said...

That book looks so good. The hubs prefers casual unless it's a special occasion and then there a couple of place we go in 'the city' that are super nice w/o being stuffy. The same w/ my dad unless we're on vacay and then he's all about going ALL out.

White Way to Light said...

My man is a more 'formal' type! He loves to get all dressed up and have me all dressed up and go somewhere special! :) Looks like a great book! :)

My husband is totally casual. He likes good food, good conversation, and good company. If there is some good music thrown on the ipod he likes that too! He always tells me to keep it simple. He doesn't want me to get stressed out and ruin the casual vibe!!

Hi! Congrats on the book - looks fab!

My spunky hunk enjoys casual meals when it is just our family eating together - but if we have guests over for a meal, especially if it is a meal once our children are in bed, he will love and appreciate a more formal occassion of a meal! He respects and is thankful that my 'love language' is cooking! (We created our own new category there!!).

Congratulations on publication #3!

Wasn't thinking so much for my husband, who by the way prefers a casual lifestyle and his meals to be something that lays on the plate and plays dead rather than something he has to fight with (I like to chew on the bones), but rather I'm thinking of my dad as I throw my hat into the ring. In the last few years, his spirituality has become a priority to him and the book sounds like something that would encourage him. Dad is more casual in his eating style, and dinner always starts out with him pouring a glass of wine before dinner is made.
