Chocolate Pool & Happy 4th of July!

Here’s a dream that my friend Jane had, and she thinks it came from reading my blog!

Jane wrote:

In my dream you had a new recipe you wanted to try. You had this huge vat and were furiously putting in chocolate, cream and coffee. You then emptied it into your swimming pool and told everyone to jump in—drink and swim!

I kid you not…it was so real to me…and I was thinking, “leave it to Sandy to have such a unique party!”

What plans do you have for the 4th of July?

We are having a party with family and friends, with HOMEMADE ICE CREAM
(look for recipe in upcoming post!)

Happy Birthday Sandy!!! Have a wonderful week with your dear family!
And I'm always looking for a real good homemade ice cream recipe! Looking forward to getting yours!
Who wouldn't want all that chocolate, cream & coffee! Sounds fun to me!!
Happy 4th too!

Hmm, that would hafta be chocolate milk of a sort, right? Cuz anything else would be too thick to swim in! Our kids are hosting their own pool party at lunchtime at my parents' pool (young adult hospitality!), then we'll do our own fireworks here tonite, while thousands of fireflies blink over the cornfields in the background. Looks a little Hollywood and is very fun!

We're having homemade ice cream too. The kids and I made it yesterday - vanilla with chocolate chips - so it could ripen in the freezer overnight.

But that's all I'm making for today, alas. My in-laws are coming, and my mother-in-law requested that she be allowed to bring all the food for our meal. It's rare that she has a chance to do this, so I acquiesced - which wasn't easy, since I had mounds of Fourth of July recipes. But family peace is more important. I can cook next year.

Happy Fourth of July to you and yours!

Happy 4th of July!

Another couple is coming to join us for a bar-b-que. The weather is beautiful and it is nice to plan a relatively quiet time at home.

This evening we'll watch the fireworks over the Bay. We don't see the lower ones from our vantage point but there are lots of high ones to keep us entertained.

That would be my kind of party! LOL

This first half of the day we're taking it easy around the house while hubby slaves away fixing a car (for extra $) but then we're heading off to a friend's barbeque, followed by seeing fireworks with the little ones...
A very Happy 4th to you, Sandy! :)

Now THAT'S my kind of dream! We live about an hour or so from Hershey, Pennsylvania and they have chocolate spa treatments. They say you can't eat the chocolate mud so I just see it as a waste of cocoa. LOL
