I won!

I love getting boxes in the mail! And today one arrived with my name on it … from Montana! You see, I commented on Simple Katie’s blog a couple of weeks ago and my name went into a drawing. I WON!

I now will indulge and tell you all the wonderful items that were packed into this box:

A Glacier Country magazine, specially made (oozing with delicious butter) Toffee Bars (recipe included), Mint Tea, Montana Blend Coffee, Montana Gold Gourmet Tea, little notebooks, and a “Going-to-the-Sun Road” Glacier National Park pin.

As you can see from the picture below, my favorite gift is the beautifully sewn plaid apron (you can check out how much I love aprons by going here). I love the shorter style and the large deep pockets. I’m also very impressed with the hand-made recycled envelopes, as they look like they were created from a magazine. My son, Elliot, is going on a mission trip to Mexico and he asked if he could use those "cool" envelopes to mail out his support letters to family and friends.

Wow! I am still in awe…

My friend Barb (from WI) and I often exchange boxes. We like to surprise each other with unexpected items and a lot of different kinds of chocolate!

I love Simple Katie’s idea, so I will soon be posting a contest on my site. You’ll be able to enter a comment at that time, and your name will go into a drawing for a Southern-Oregon-Coughlin-Style box to arrive at your doorstep. Of course a copy of Married but not Engaged will be included.

Stay tuned…

Cheers! Sandy

Luv the cutie apron! My oldest won a $25 gift card to Target this week from a drawing at a blood drive she participated in. She was so happy to receive a fun surprise like that! But a Coughlin Box is even better. A box from Miz Sandy is a treat of major proportions! Always loaded, always creative and always fun :oD

Thanks for stopping by my blog to visit. Your profile really tweaked me because I am that reluctant hostess. It is one of my least competent, most sensitive areas in my life. Bad things happen when i entertain, like can lids in soups, grandmas falling and hitting their heads ... I may have to post about my experiences. When I go to other people's houses, i don't critique them, but when they visit me, I'm a nervous wreck. You touched a hot spot for me--very interesting!

I'm so glad the box was enjoyed by everyone and that you like the apron. The style I sent you is my favorite for gardening, because those deep pockets hold lots of seed packets, etc.

Also, I have tons of the recycled envelopes if your son needs more for his support letters, let me know I'm happy to send more.

We've been planing Jackson & Perkins roses (gifts) in memory of Perry's mother, Anita. Her best secret of huge beautiful roses was a combination of alfafa meal and epsom salts. Now we wait for the results and then bouquets of flowers for our table. Happy Spring!

I have been reading you for a year now and love your site. I do however have questions. I love hospitality and entertaining. My first question is I have a dining room table that seats 6 and kitchen table that seats 6...we have 18 close friends that we run with and are very close to....yes 18. So when i have them over...they have been once but it an appetizer party and everyone sat everywhere....where do I seat them...exp if it's winter time and we cant go outside. I would like us all to eat in the same room together but it may not be possible. Also what kind of Hospitality gifts do you like or the ones you give...I'm always looking for new ideas.
One more thing....my birthday is coming up and we always go out with all the 18 friends....any different ideas you can share with me?
I do enjoy reading you......
