The pattern is "Hobstar" and they were one of the historic Libbey patterns. The Dollar Tree has carried these and they are available here in Toledo at the Libbey Outlet. Apparently the historic collection was not a big seller and they are clearing these out=-- you could not pay for a finer glass!. We had the party at home (we normally pay to have it at some expensive place) we ordered cheap pizzas using coupons (12 and 13 year old boys loved them) and I baked a homemade cake that was much cheaper than the ones that I normally buy. For entertainment they played video games. Fellowship is very important to us and most of our friends have from 5 to 8 children so we usually have a crows even with one family. I've just learned to keep it simple. Casseroles go a long way and Sam's Club organic salad mix will feed the whole crew for just $3.97. It doesn't matter that the economy is crashing - people will starve their families for days just to entertain guests with an 8-course spread. <br /><br />I've been trying to bring some freedom to the culture - I still entertain frequently but I set an example by preparing simple meals, enough food but not too much, and using the best of what's in season for my table - that means a lot of root vegetables now. I also don't get caught up in having the prettiest serveware or the most up-to-date kitchen. People are happy because they get a good meal in a relaxing place where the hostess cares more about them than how perfect the pilaf is.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
