Life IS different for us single women. We sometimes are very sad that we have the whole evening to ourselves to put on our nightgowns early, drink herbal tea, take hot baths, report to no one, share the clicker with no one, and read a pile of magazines in bed. It is so terrible to be hanged with a new rope at times! Seriously, I loved this post and think it might be time to invite some couples over for supper. I haven't done that more than twice I think since my divorce, uh... eleven years ago. I appreciate your blog so much.Gaylahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08065012721158735975noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36263828.post-88246886179876067702007-06-25T06:16:00.000-07:002007-06-25T06:16:00.000-07:00Sandy, that brought tears to my eyes. I think whatever point at which we find ourselves, we are reluctant to move beyond it, sometimes.

For example: mingling old/young; married/single; children/no children, etcBeccahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11748356409898753600noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36263828.post-51706506405980627512007-06-25T00:08:00.000-07:002007-06-25T00:08:00.000-07:00Very good post and encouraging to all.Very good post and encouraging to all.Nadinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01480908026387066960noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36263828.post-3720209628717019932007-06-24T19:44:00.000-07:002007-06-24T19:44:00.000-07:00I was single until age 32, so I can relate to feel...I was single until age 32, so I can relate to feeling left out of the couple's world (although now I'm so use to being a couple, I can forget unless things like this remind me!)

My husband has several single sibling, however...

Wonderful advice here!
Blessings!Tammyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13932066100979969014noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36263828.post-77085253759672763832007-06-24T15:20:00.000-07:002007-06-24T15:20:00.000-07:00That picture of Nurse Babe Jenny is SO fun! This is great advice for singles, but for others as well. We have a friend whose wife died a couple of years ago after several months of suffering. He determined not to hide, but purposely got out and got involved in his neighborhood and church, and went on a 6 week mission trip a couple of years in a row. He was a great example for the rest of us, even tho it wasn't always easy for him. He just remarried late this winter, and is doing very well, I believe because he purposely made the effort to be with people, enjoying and learning and serving.Barbhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10353465756013913758noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36263828.post-76831399607841784572007-06-24T12:51:00.000-07:002007-06-24T12:51:00.000-07:00Very sweet post, Sandy. It can be a little isolating, so good advice from you, as usual.

RhodaRhoda @ Southern Hospitalityhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16741881774379561710noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36263828.post-66111112107096418742007-06-24T05:35:00.000-07:002007-06-24T05:35:00.000-07:00Maybe another way to segue into this area would be...Maybe another way to segue into this area would be for a single person to host a small group at their apartment, home. Hopefully this group is a mixed one with singles, married couples, old and young. (my favorite kind of group) They could start entertaining from the comfort of a group like this. They could partner with someone from the group to help them branch out and host a meal, etc.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
